EUSAAT 2018 Practical Training Course on Alternative Methods
"EUSAAT 2018 - Kirkstall Quasi Vivo® Training Workshop"
26-27 September 2018, Johannes Kepler University Linz, Austria
Due to the success of the last "EUSAAT Practical Training Courses on Alternative Methods", we have received several requests to hold a similar training course to introduce (young) colleagues to advanced in vitro methods.
Together with our this year's partner Kirkstall Ltd., the EUSAAT Board is happy to offer the EUSAAT 2018 Practical Training Course: "EUSAAT 2018 - Kirkstall Quasi Vivo® Training Workshop".
The workshop will provide both lectures and practical work on the following topics:
- An overview of the latest in-vitro models with special focus on Organ-on-Chip technology.
- The advantages and challenges of the state-of-the-art OOC technologies, 3D cultures, scaffolds & flow systems.
- Why is flow important in cell culture models? Introduction to the physics of flow and the biology of flow stress. Preparation of cells for flow conditions.
- How to choose the best pumping system for your application and how to set it up?
- Co-culture and Multi-organ model applications.
- Some recent examples from published studies.
- Setting up the Quasi-Vivo®system and running flow experiments.
Interested participants will get to set up their milli-fluidic Organ-on-a-Chip system and get hands-on experience!
Benefits of the Quasi Vivo training
- Comprehensive training in all skills needed to use the Quasi Vivo®
- A mix of both hands-on experience and background theory promotes all round understanding.
- A low trainee to instructor ratio, providing a more personal experience.
- Dedicated staff able to provide continuing assistance to Quasi Vivo® users.
- Researchers with experience in static cell culture should be easily able to transfer their protocols into a flow system.
Participants of the "EUSAAT 2018 - Kirkstall Quasi Vivo® Training Workshop" will receive a certificate of participation.
